angst sets in
like the shadows of dusk
flat on the ground
lacking fire,
lacking heat,
lacking motion,
in the post-crimsoning of the day

there is no inspiration
there are no projections
the graphs are flat,
no interest,
no brightness,
only darker grey shades,
waiting for the neons to be lit
to remind that it is evening now
and another day has passed
with nothing to be remarked
in the black book
that for the past few months
has remained clean,
non-desecrated by thoughts

the voices are mute
and the amplifier is dead

and soon the time had come
like always, unfailingly
when the neons awake
and the city seems to function
again

street lights,
shop lights,
house lights
artificial delights
all around

but then it reminds
that the night has come to stay
for its scheduled time-slot
and then the Earth will have turned
in her bed so that
it shall be day
again

and that brings hope

i feel like a useful idiot now

our signs must be running on the same circuit. mine just turned on a few days ago and now my black book (howw'd you know that?!) is getting some wear and tear.

i like this write. the setting reminds me of that song from "miami vice" called you belong to the city

great write, and i hope there's a few more before dawn.

it's our struggle for identity that leaves us all unknown
