*** The Red Rage ***

During each month of a woman's years
is a week that drags her to tears
begging for that sympathetic ear

she doesn't feel sick, but she doesn't feel well
she's tired and grouchy and just wants to yell
pardon the language, but she feels just like hell

she can't sleep through the night
her clothes feel too tight
yet she can't control her appetite

it starts in her teens
with an excess of steam
hissing hormonal tirades and scenes

no advice sounds too sage
during this rage
when a woman's temper demands center stage

believe it or not...there's an end to this page
though she'll have to pay with advancing age
a small price to pay, for ending red rage

***

I sometimes wonder who has to pay for this the most, you women, or us men. LOL Well done, Lyra.  So nice to see you posting. *hugs*

cracking up here--I think I have ONE normal week per cycle. I estimate that gives me approximately 3.5 months out of the year of sanity. Once? When when I got that "monthly visitor?" I could have sworn I heard the neighbors applaud!

Thanks for the chuckle, Madame C--as my family eyes the calendar with caution!

I hate to sound commercialistic, but you phrased this better than any ad I've seen in a month of years....Brava!

(big hugggsssssss) Oh Lyra, I know this feeling so very much, sweet friend, my sister has been experiencing some of this pain lately and I always wish that I felt that same pain so I can sympathize with her better, though when I hug her and try comforting her she says that's all she needs! (sigh) This is a beautifully compassionate poem, sweet friend, God Bless You, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Lyra, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

and what of a man?
NOT entitled to a hormonal display once in a blooming moon?
what manner of madness is this?
when the inexcusable has belief
and no apologies

My ex-wife had that malady.
It moved that gal to tears.
Forget that once a month routine..
Hers lasted fifteen years!!

Great poem, Madame C!

At least we only have it for a week once a month. And most of it is PMS Post man sloth.

Thanks so much, Sy...
I'm glad you enjoyed

Sunny...thanks for your reply,  Its always better to make fun of something than to take it seriously

Thanks Sue...I'm glad I re-posted it also...
Devina's poem, "Just Sedate Me" was the inspiration for the re-post.

Michael(Auguste)...At the risk of sounding like a feminist bitch, I invite you to actually HAVE pms  for a week and then you will know, that it is much much worse for a woman than for her husband.
Men think they have to "put up" with us during this time....but you really have no idea how horrible we feel.

Karen...thanks for your reply.  I bet they did applaud!  Of course when the monthly visitor comes, it brings it's own problems with it, so between the 2...I would say that women have gotten a pretty raw deal.

Julie...Thanks, I think most of us do.  A week is just a round number.

Karilea...thanks so much for that compliment.  But what am I advertising here?  I think that no matter how hard you advertise the red rage, very few people (men or women) would be actually willing to pay money for it...LOL

devina...thanks for the reply and also for being the inspiration for the re-post

Noah...Thank you...You are such a sensitive young man to want to feel your sister's pain for her.

Jeff...Women only do this once a month and there is a very good reason for it....I have known men who act like this all of the time

Michael(Balladeer)...thanks for your reply
Your poor ex-wife....Oh how she must have suffered. I'm glad you enjoyed the poem.

Donna...thanks for replying.  I don't know about once a day....maybe once an hour

Thanks Martie...I appreciate the big hug and I think all of us can relate to this one, except the men.  They see it from the other side.  The key word here, being "see"  they see it but they don't FEEL it.

Keth...thanks so much for stopping by and replying...I love the "post man sloth: LOL
~ big hugs to all
