Dee-lightful Rose

Petal by petal ... that is the way to love the rose
Anything less is just admiring what she shows
Unselfish is the bud standing high on her stem
Adding beauty and elegance so proper and prim

Enhale the vigor of fragrance born of morning song
As depth of soul is revealed between right and wrong
Vivid is the whisper reflected in the heart of day's sun
Resting against her layers of love ... waiting to be won

Rigid are the emotions sheltered three petals deep
Shadowed in leaf of protection ... silently they weep
Hollow turmoil perfumed with her sweetness for all
Radiating elation to beckonings of friendships call

Sweet is her nectar swirling amidst warming breeze
Enticing the eclipse of eagle in a desire to please
Tender is the sway captured in whispering wind
Holding her blossom for the proper heart to tend

Mark Christopher

For Dee and the many many MANY thanks I owe her for not only keeping my poetry alive in my absence, but for truely being a dear friend across the oceans and always taking the time to make so many others smile even when she couldn't manage one for herself.  These words cannot touch the REAL beauty of this remarkable woman nor would I ever pretend that anything I could pen would, but it is an expression of true admiration and respect for someone that has a heart as big as the country she lives in.  Many hugs and much love in friendship to you Dee and big smiles to see that life is finally giving you back what you put into it.  My 6000th is all yours as you earned it as much as I did.  Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Recognize love for the gift it is and not a need that is out of focus.

Congratulations on your 6000th post Cowboy.  You've been riding the range far too long...time to take those boots off and stay awhile.  Coffee's on, and the early morning Sunrise bids you stay on a bit, y'hear?

This piece reflects a view..very rare to me. How you revere a feminine spirit is priceless. This shows a tenderness that is very..manly..if that makes a hoot of sense. Happy 6000 and I know Dee will save this forever.

Oh Mark, where do I start? This is just beautiful and I love it. I will be printing it out when I get back online for myself. At the moment I am sitting in an internet cafe and they are looking at me rather oddly cause of the stupid grin on my face. Your poetry was worth every trip I made into the archives.
I should be thanking you too for your friendship and the attention you paid to my poetry. Much love to you my friend.

Thank you all for your wonderful comments and the congrats.  I appreciate them each and every one.

Dee-No thanks needed.  I always enjoyed your poetry and only wish you posted MORE. ( yes, not very subtle but hey ... TAKE THE HINT already when you come back.)   I am glad that you enjoyed this one and no matter how much I want to ... mere words could never completely do you justice.  Just keep being you and the world will catch on to just how special you are.  Thank you again sweet friend and now go enjoy your new life and count on at least this cowboy eagerly awaiting your return on a more permanent basis.  Love back to you my friend and rose of the archives.

It took me a day to think of an answer just for you but here it is, Mark.
Love, Dee

This small rose, without your sunshine,
would wither and fade to nothing.
Though I'm often in the shadows
I revel in the warmth you bring.
Your words give me the hope I need
when all in my life seems too dark.
You can change my whole perspective,
for this I thank you, Mark.

Oh nearly forgot to say I love the pic. It is nice to finally see what you look like my friend.

Dee- Heck, I am just glad you liked it.  I worried, fretted, and then almost went into a panic because I know I didn't even touch on the beauty of the real you.  Anytime I can add a little light to your day, just ask and consider this cowboy on a mission to do just that.  Thank you once again for YOU and for always blossoming without any thorns.  BTW ... there is nothing wrong with your perspective and the only thing that needs to change is for the world to take the time to get to know YOU and not see only the surface which in my book is a 10 anyway.     Hugs and love to you dear one just for not running when you saw the pic. ROFL

chansondegeste-Thank you and she is definitely a nectar worth buzzing about.

Balladeer- You brought me roses???????!!!!  Oh man, I can't wait to see what Toerag does with that one, but hey, you were "sweet" in doing so. ROFL.  Thank you much for it all and the laughs.
