when flattery comes, she soaks it up
her body and mind having lacked the feel.
the tiniest smile, the look from one's eyes
a word soft and sweet, to layer her real.
and yet what is praise when not of sincere,
but spiritless workings, leaving life of austere.

"Love is not blind - It sees more and not less, but because it sees more, it is willing to see less."
(Will Moss)

This reminds me of myself--I can be played like a harp! (Now all I need is an angel? *smile*)

Thanks for the quick look in the mirror this morning! (next time, I'll brush my hair first---scary, that! *shudder* )

I don't know, but any praise is better than going through life with none, I think.

I guess we all know the need for praise,
Some are just better at giving than others
Some are just better at receiving than others,
But you are truly correct
It’s not the words, but the sincerity.
