When I wasn't looking
you appeared
as if out of no where
you came to me when I least expected it
knocking on my door
you stood with the sun behind your back
asking me if I might like to walk
through the park and after dark.

I will always remember
how easy your hand was to hold
my eyes blinking under the flash of your strobe
like flowers freshly cut
highlighting the color of my blush.

My curious mind longed to know
just where you planned on taking me
and far you wanted to go
instantly I knew
I could have danced all night with you.

Like a young girl, I was nervous maybe
unsure of your intentions and the reason why you came
in all honestly I never saw it coming
and I like to think, when looking back
it was a simple twist of fate
that doesn't need to be explained.

And yet the more things change
the more they remain the same
these days with you
are the best of times my love has ever spent

But it seems we're not the same~

Melting down beneath the heat
leaking into the air
flowers wilting on my night stand.
skimming the surface across the sand
like a circle game complete
a secret lover on demand.

But every time you wrap around me
and catch me in your hold
you fill me up all over
placed between the folds.

Still, I miss the urgency
where time was of the essence
and the hours were ours to spare
seems hard to come by after dark.

If only we could go back again
and fly away by night
instead of counting minutes
making time that's not our own.

But in my mind I travel
taking comfort in the fact
how far we both have come
and that we're both still here
keeping close where we belong.

And as strange as it may seem
there is a special meaning to it all
a private place to call my own
that fits into my dreams
and in my dreams come true
I love you dearly
just like
and more.....

The blindness of love...perfect!

...and so it begins

This is fantastic!!!! It takes me on a journey that starts when love is so new, then shows how time may change some things, but the feelings remain the same.  Oh, I like this one very much!!

Open the door and let your adventure begin!!!

There is a comfort-in-the-familiar mood to this--watching a couple this at ease with each other is akin to watching "water ballet"

A warm, loving poem here. Enjoyed.

Ah Duncan~ you summed it up in so few words!  Love is blind and a many splendored thing when it's done right, not saying I done it right though.
Thanks for that thought!

Sunnyone~ Yes, some things never change....love simply evolves and we find our way.  Thank you so much for your warm thoughts.

DS~ Thanks for walking by and taking in the scenery.  If you could only see the view through my eyes, it's pretty there where my heart lies.

serenity~ Thank you for your lovely thoughts on the subject, I so appreciate them.

Mr. Tabin~ It's always good to see you here, thank you sir~

Lauren~ Thank you so much for sharing your smile and always leaving a hug for me!  Sometimes the emotions that love stirs is like a pot that boils over!     It's so hot here today it's no wonder I'm wilting fast!!!     Thanks you~

loner~ Love is all that...thank you for coming by and letting me know you were here....  It is much appreciated.

Noah~ Thank you kind sir, love doesn't come with a guarantee but I wouldn't turn it in for the world, even if it doesn't always work the way I'd like it to.

Lyra~ Love is impossible to put demands on, it just comes to us even when we know darn well we're asking too much!  That's my 2 cents anyway.  Thank you muchly dear heart!

Hi Nancy~ I'm glad you made yourself comfy, after all that was my intention, and I'm grateful to you and the kindness you share with me.  Hugs~

vandana~ I'm so glad you did and that you took the time to let me know.
Thanks~

Martie~ Even your replies are poetic, and I thank you for sharing them with me.

Sandra~ My original title was 'Day One'  I suppose I was getting all sentimental with this.   Even though things don't always remain the same, what's important is that the feelings remain at all.  Thank you always~
