My Protected Heart

Knowing of a wary space
knowing where to reside
where I can safely place
the feelings that I hide

Coming to my home
sweet home
unlocked with golden key
nevermore to roam
dry loam
my asylum is safe, you see

Nevermore to fear the dark
or rest with unquiet thoughts
evermore to feel sweet love
loving my sanctuary sought

You are welcome
here within
you, here in my home
with me
sweetened height of pure
delight
because you alone
hold the key

Never do we think
to ever love again
even though at life we wink
but never touch again

Never knowing miracles
can come within a blink
so we remain impervious
until we start to think

A revelation can thus come
in the smile or word of one
and thus why you are here with me
for you alone have held the key

For you know of a wary space
and you know where to reside
where you can safely place
the feelings that you hide

Here, in the protected heart of me

Sounds like a place where a boy could rest in peace. Enjoyed.

Friendship's heart....where one is for one
and both are for both...where all can be
said,  felt and shared...without fear...
