Ghost Breeze

On a summer's deep night, brightened by starry darkness
memories stirred the larks that once sang in me
Bat-blind thoughts flying aimlessly in search
of an unhurried arm of Ghost Breeze

This unseen rainbow in silent moon's blush
goading a mind with deliberate courage
such a strength of the past lodged in braided thought
I could not deny it, nor turn away.

I saw through a gauze of confusion, the wandering cry
of Ghost Breezes, eerily creaking from past stories
deceptively calm, enticing
I would not allow my old cares to be cooled
by this false aire of comfort.

Go haunt another!I implored the spectres
I live of the Now
and shall not be mocked or scorned
by your windy guilt nor gaze into your tar-pitched eyes

It circled for a moment more
before I breathed out ancient dust in its face!
cutting the roots around my heart
and watching the Ghost Breeze
quietly perish on a midnight vine

Jeff darling heart and writer of the wind, have you any idea how spectacular this poem is? No probably not since you entirely lack all conceit, then let me tell you darling heart it is awesome, and no I am not just saying that. Naturally the rhythm is perfect and the flow is utterly utterly spot on. Your writing is never less than perfect sometimes however even I am amazed at the beauty you mange to weave through your words. This is gorgeous, and IWIHWT.

These lines are so outstanding I’m breathless with awe, how can you weave the breeze so completely, I swear this is superb writing, utterly utterly superb, definitely one of your best darling boy, truly brilliant.

Perfect writing darling heart absolutely perfect

If you say it, i take heed

Marsha, i spent a summer's day, roasting in the heat
that cowered behind storm clouds
writing of a haunting memory
that has an origin from no retreat

Hope you and Emma/Krissy are well.  Thank you, Maaaaaaashhhha
and give everybody a hug from Dulcy, Batguy and myself, will you?

Jeff

Sometimes the ghosts tickle a place that needs a slide of memory before the wave of goodbye.  You are such a deep thinker..and a wonderful poet.  Thank you for that.

I liked this part best:
quote:

before I breathed out ancient dust in its face!
cutting the roots around my heart
and watching the Ghost Breeze
quietly perish on a midnight vine

The finality of putting the past behind you in order to embrace the future was spellbinding...awesome write sweetheart!
