Against That Sky Exhaustion didn't greet her so overwhelmed heart She must have ran a mile or two there in her mind Just something about the sapphire clouds in their dance That left no hesitation for her thoughts to climb... Evening gained speed as the blue mixed slightly with black There it was just hanging onto the edge of dawn About to slip into night she took on it's form Never dismissing a thought of him that held on... Against that sky it held glares of his profile in pastels It's dynamic spread across the night like her heart With shades of lights ever so bright against that sky She admired all to see in a missing him prayer while apart... Oh, not a song, it was even more to the ears Explosions great to a city standing over and over again But, she was waiting for the next one to light up her eyes And, in unrecognizable denial anyone knew she was looking for him... Against that sky she found way to one more look at his face And, in a crowd she felt the only one there beneath it all How she imagined it's spray over the rooftops at dusk To be the only two to catch the iridescent specks to fall... It's trumpet to the flares shot deep into the sky Made room for noticeable noise to the joy inside Just a tint and a hint of satisfaction for her Only showed her there's so much more to the world then words... She found him against that sky though no one knew And, found the more the clusters in air the more intense it grew Oh, against that sky she felt a little less alone And, the distance couldn't change her thoughts that had roamed...  (smiles) Oh Saunni, this is soooooo beautiful, sweet friend, yes, it helps to take baby steps rather than go the whole journey in the pursuit for that something more, and may she always feel less alone every distance she goes!
