I wish these sheets
were skin--on skin--
would that my pillow could grow arms
and fingers tracing
midnight grace--
shallow breath sings whisper song.

I lick my lips
and long for kiss--
I pray for mercy sleep.
I beg release
of lover's keep--
a feather-bed of "I belong..."

ohh..geesh..I've only lately had a feeling of belonging somewhere again. I just know its gonna take me a little while to get there. Love is patient, yes?

Loved this "sigh poetry", Lady.

I would sacrifice
to the slitting smile of night
desperate acts
just to be held
past the length of an hour

for a single, genuine touch

and the hunger
has grown and thinned
into one crowning ache

that begs, faceless
a lame animal
crooning
lonesome with instinct,
survival, and the cavernous
mystery questioned
if it was ever granted a soul,
teeth gleaming

... oh, I echo you, lovely witch... ~smile~ you write wonders, k

Perhaps one of your shorter pieces,
but filled with oh so much want.....

Powerfully put!!!

The reader who's been there can really understand the powerful longing in this.

This has to be one of your best, there's so much more to comprehend in these few lines than meets the eye.

Whether on the shoal or on the shore,
I'll seek the lighthouse evermore.

I love my feather pillow most when he has his arms keep around me.  You write the longing so well!

geez...I somehow managed to sleep good ANYWAY...now how'd dat happen?

Thanks guys, and I'd like to take this opportunity to "scream" at Elizabeth Corr--WHERE THE HELL HAVE YOU BEEN??? I wake up, and I find hints of you everywhere...sniff--I feel like a little kid who just missed Santa...

and THIS, Lady E, MUST BE POSTED--especially:

"that begs, faceless
a lame animal
crooning
lonesome with instinct,
survival, and the cavernous
mystery questioned
if it was ever granted a soul,
teeth gleaming"

sigh...reminds me of Sylvia Plath.

ES? Keep making those times special, luvie!

Jenn--I don't know a damn thing about love being patient! (with toe tapping) I want it ALL--and I want it RIGHT NOW!!! (now stomping same foot) Thanks for reading.

Sunshine...don't tell "anyone", but sometimes I HATE sleeping alone, but in my case, it happens to beat the alternative! *wink*

seymour--serenity DID! *winks* to you too!

Virginia--it was a lonely bit of moment, and I guess it's one that everyone can relate to...as sad as that is...I thank you, most kindly.

Martie? you have a feather pillow WITH ARMS--hmm--do they sell those on the shopping channel? Methinks you get a LOT of hugs--if not? YOU SHOULD. Have another, on me! *HUG*

Sister Tanya--beat the lumps out, eh? I don't wanna kill the poor bas--OH...heh heh...nevermind. But dead things DON'T CUDDLE. *chuckle*

Thanks all--I'm off to read now!
