Often when I write, images of my father
come to mind, bringing me peace and
guidance. On the days when I'm feeling
down I try to resurface all the happy
and cherished memories I have of my
beloved father. It brings me great
comfort when I write of the love I
have for my father and I feel I keep
his spirit alive through my words.

* * * * *

There were times we'd sit and talk
Without saying a single word
As we engaged in conversation
Without a sound being heard

So in tune with one another
Many stories you once told
Those memories for me are priceless
For they cannot be brought or sold

I would watch you as you worked
So very skilled at carpentry
I have so many things you made
So very precious they are to me

My home is filled with memories
Of the times I spent with you
'tho life is sometimes out of focus
Of your image I have a clear view

I feel your warmth around me
Remembering your face so warm and kind
I clasp tightly to the picturebook
That I have here in my mind

'tho part of me went with you
On the day you passed away
I still find comfort in my memories
For it is there you'll always stay

I am in motion
I am blue
Love is an ocean
I'm anchored in you

Beautiful tribute to your Father Sue.
You're so fortunate to have had a good relationship with your Dad and have those memories!

Sue,  though I still have my father,  I lost
my mother 30 years ago....And I have many
memories of her that I cherish to this day.

We all have someone who we loved very deeply
and still do...You have not ever done any
thing but speak the highest praise of your
Dad....

Sue:  Thanks for sharing these thoughts of your father.  Not all daughters had such a loving relationship.  I did, so I can appreciate your feelings.

we spin the radio dials in unison
but the sound is off
yet we hear the same song on the same station
and tap our feet to the rhythm
of our heart

Sue, the splender of a priceless moment
has been captured by pen
by your keen eye

Thank you one and all for your comforting words.

Sandra, I know from your previous comments how close you were to your grandparents and I'm so glad you could relate to my words.

Jeff, the tears flowed freely when I read your beautiful words.  Thank you ever so much.

Take care.....Sue
