Between the Lines

Sparked the Night

Sweltering over you,
knowing the heart-feel is deadened
but when the SHE crosses my path
in falsity of smile,
I burn so badly
I can feel the blisters of anger
rise on the softness
of remembering.

A once calm heart,
anti-ed with depressant
allowed the dry eyed visions to blur
and for a moment these lips
began to speak, a voice
from the past, edging, warning,
intimidating, releasing,
wanting to not feel what was overtaking
the nicety of the evening air.

It sparked too soon,
words from eyes,
firing before ready,
my body wishing
to be elsewhere, anywhere,
instead of feeling
so alone
in the crowd of thousands.

M

This should be read more, because there is definetely something here. I loved this.

"I can feel the blisters of anger
rise on the softness
of remembering."

What a powerful line....as are the others.
