There should be
animosity
I should feel
some "healthy hate."
I dreamed of
opportunity
to dance upon
this very grave.

I swore one day
he'd die like this--
I thought that I'd feel joy.
A bullet was
his Judas kiss--
and yet? I still feel void.

I said that I
would lead brass band.
I swore I'd whistle
"dixie land."
I thought his death
would bring me peace--
resurrection
of the "me"
that he stole
so long ago--
he raped me--
robbing me of soul...

Now he's gone
and I'm forsaked
of the push
of hatred's brake.

I am aimless
passion's cry.
Yesterday
my hatred died.

Tomorrow, bones
will find new rest--
penultimate
of love's reject.

(I liked him.)
Now I shake my head.
I live in proof--
life after death.

There, I got that quote in.
If I had a choice to pick who I'd like best to see after death it would have to be you. I just wouldn't want to be him.

Highly emotional write! Vengence is never all that sweet I do know that.
I usually have to wait until Janet Marie comments on your work to know just exactly what you're talking about.

Bye bye for now Celeste!

I truly do not know what it is to hold on to hatred for so long...I've never been able to do it, even though I had ample opportunity...

a good read...

what you are proof of is that even when things have been taken from you...and the hurt runs deep ...you arent capable of returning that hurt even if the person might deserve it....a gentle spirit knows all will come back around in time and we treat others as we wish to be treated.

Ouch...sis...I can see your emotions FLY in this piece..

and you know? that hatred dies, yes...but the scar is there...and we lick our wounds for eternity...

I'm glad to see the pain draining in this and your thought process ain't too bad neither!!!

love ya sis!!

Serenity,
I judge the write not the moral,
And the write is damn good pal.

I have had alot on my mind lately...smile?

I won't pretend that I understand it, because I don't. But it is what it is.

Thanks for listening, yet again...love you all.

serenity

I have felt this way, and though I couldn't have written it, I understand.  Intense and real to me.  Hugs!
