The real stuff she could not realistically
nor figuratively afford
so to satisfy her craving
she just sweetened artificially.

Snacking and supping to her delight
she really outdid herself, but soon
found out that zero calories was never able
to fill her need.

She dieted upon decision.
Strictly. No treats whatsoever.
She failed miserably, her cravings
overcame her.

Young and tan (in a muscle shirt)
in full athletic view (on a bike)
looked notably perplexed when her gaze
made him feel like warm apple pie
dripping with ice cream.

Searching for a middle ground
she mustered up a healthy serving
of restraint, and to make it more
palatable, sprinkled it liberally
with imagination.

She now smiles with whetted lips but
walks the other way
sweetly satisfied, minus
the calories.
