I bet you can't tell
I am a proud dad
My sons are so special
I love them so much

I wasn’t there
when they came into the world
The hospital folks thought dads weren’t cool
In delivery rooms
  only moms could be present

I saw them later
  and just couldn’t believe
How precious and tiny these new people were
I wanted to hold them
  but again I could not
When they go home was the medical thought

Many years went by
Many games we did play
Some days were so special
Some were quite hard

And now they are grown
and have given me such pleasure
Can I love them even more
Than I did when they were born

So wonderful to talk to
So bright and so smart
I’ll love them forever
They are part of my heart

Paul darling boy now this is absolutely excellent writing, your love for your sons shines through each word and I know the love is reciprocated totally. It is a wonderful thing when a family are as loving and close as yours is. As my girls are to me but don’t let them know, its enough trouble keeping them in order here as it is If they realised just how proud of them I am I’d never get a look in on my computer. Just in case you didn’t know Krissy and andEmmamakes3 are mine, Krissy writes Free Verse, and I’m not sure what Emma writes, but she calls it poetry

Anyway this is superb writing it shines with joy and pride and I love it utterly, you are an absolutely brilliant writer

Wonderful writing I love this utterly utterly utterly

Love and warm stuff
As always
Mushy

Breathe through the heat of our desire
Thy coolness and they balm
Let sense be dumb let flesh retire
Speak through the eathquake wind and fire
Oh

Paul

Isn't it amazing how all of a sudden such a big love happens...and never goes away?  Loved the tender feeling in this, my friend!
