The River of Time

Poling down the river of time
I see the shore the sky is lime
Each night an end, each day a start
And I the artist of this art.

My arms grow weary of the strain
And dreary of the daily drain
The river turns from slow to speed
And I am swamped with daily need

When currents run around the bend
I watch each movement till the end
When rivers run is straight of lease
I dream about an inner peace.

Today I wile in different lure
The breeze has opened up a door
My mind and hand have grasped a goal
The yearnings of a starving soul

The floors a mass of flowers awe
And I am poling straight for shore.

...
so I sit and watch the artist paint
finding colors leaves me faint
for I would have the artist more
by words his thoughts to explore

but he only smiles then leaves a line
in color then, my thoughts entwined...

It sounds to me ...
like we are are sailing towards shores of serenity
There we will dock in ports of harmony ...
and sip the serene of raspberry tea.

It works for me...does it work for thee?
Let me know with a wink of the *winkiewinkie*

The river is born in the sky
The silent snow is it's seed
In the season of the sun
It's crystal blood runs
Over the sun
gathering into itself
Godspeed

It flows over dams and under bridges
We pour honey and oil and sewage
Steel and dust and paper into it
Spent and sullied
Slowly it goes down
To be lost in the sea..

A river of time
Starts out so fine
Ends in pollution
Most human of crimes

Seymour darling heart and bringer of the mornings light Your writing is so moving so beautiful that I’m left awed not knowing what to say. Absolutely excellent writing and you know I love this utterly utterly utterly

Your writing is a gift so rare and precious a ray of loves light to shine through when the night seems to stay too long. I definitely needed this caress of my soul. I’m always telling you how special your writing is, on grey and cloudy days you bring a poem of such brilliance I’m overlaid with its reflected sheen. Thank you for the vision and the delight

Seymour hi there again your poem has reached inside and enlightened me. On the days when I can’t fit in a visit to mum’s I have her read me your poems and any ones she thinks are especially good. Of course that means I get to hear her favourite poets, but she has so many that I share that I forgive her Your poems are always welcome they life my mood no matter how trying the day has been. You are a very good writer, and I know I say it often but it is perfectly true. This is well written with perfect rhyme and flows as the stream of the river

the taste for knowing what is enjoyable.

Sometimes all it takes is the right goal... and weariness vanishes as anticipation surges through us. *S* This is beautiful, Seymour... *S*

I love Toe's response, too... we should all take better care... lest the shores we finally reach be strewn with reeking garbage. *S*

Two excellent poems... a definite treat for this gal. *S*
