In Your Poetic Mind

0 posted 2002-07-01 10:24 PM

Some are old stories painted
  new shades

I dreamed last night--
   thought you
  strangely e x o t i c

Reminding me even
the sea -- with all
its vast darkness could
drown me      a grain of sand

Night enters
as a touch of bare    shoulders-
empty lips
   silent eyes

yet    leaves whisper
   in a scent of rose

Wind glide   on lavender hues-
in distant flowers    water laughs

To wear the season   that can not
sleep  on the breeze
    of a lovers tongue

Two candles  standing
  vigil in rain   forgotten verses
slipped away, pushed aside

Tasting wet fire
   on the rotation of Jupiter

Tapping softly   the scattered clouds
   of dust and shadows

My palms touch   with feeling;
   canvas
too deep of these waters
  remains the echo

Emeralds from mountains
thrust towards the sky
Never revealing their depth

Could this be anymore beautiful....
could this stir echoes in me any deeper...
if I would just sigh as I inhale this...would you just know....
yes...you would *sigh*

We wish ourselves beautiful ... and cry in the night.
Its not the love you fear ... but the fall from the height.

This reminded me of a water lily floating across the pond all by itself.

This is exquisite Lauren, there is no way to pick a fav line.  So good to see you home again friend, you have been missed.

Enjoy life, this is NOT a dress rehearsal.

the canvas is there
a painting waiting

this is a thread so delicate, that I'm amazed it just doesn't fall apart at the slightest reading. . .

that it doesn't is a testament to your artistry. . . beautiful. . .

You know what I love best about your poetry - the images are so vivid to me, and with me Lauren - that is really hard to do.  It takes a lot to make me concentrate on the images, but yours grab my face with two hands and make me stare at them with pleasure.  Lovely.

Nothing means more to me than faith,
family and my friends.
