He hurt my feelings by his reply To a poem I did write What did I ever do to him For him to be so unkind He was one who I admired I thought he was a nice guy Until he said what he did To hurt my feelings deep inside Maybe I should not be here I should just go away No longer do I know If I should even stay By Sue 7-1-02 |

I sympathize SC---just a suggestion here, but why don't you talk to HIM about it? and that last verse? hmmm...I used to let replies bug me, but one day I just decided, "oh well. I think I'm just gonna write ANYWAY." If I find the site with some of the rejection slips/reviews submitted by some wonderfully talented---successful writers? I will pass it on. It was quite enlightening. I like to think that those that can write? can't help but do so...some that can't? become critics!  |

DON"T GO !!!! i'm sure he didnt mean to hurt you...i use to be hurt by replies...or lack of them...but i don't think that way any more...not everyone likes the same thing...we all have different taste...i know i wouldn't want to eat a hamburger every meal of my life...write...it IS your voice...it heals us...it beams our love...write...JUST WRITE!!! Sue - I'm sorry your feelings were hurt by someone. Please don't let some jerk drive you away from something you obviously love. Your writing is so good and I look forward each day to seeing if you've written something new. There's an old saying, 'you can't please all of the people all of the time.' Sue...I am so very sorry that someone hurt your feelings dear lady. (Hug) I know how you feel. Someone once told me that I couldnt write my way out of a paper bag. Be strong, and if you love writing, then keep on doing it! We all appreciate your poetry soooo much so please dont let some un-appreciative person ruin it. (hug) |

You are all so kind. Serenity, it has been my experience not to say anything to someone about what they say. Especially if they say something hurtful. Thank you for your concern. Balladeer, thank you. I am a tough chick, too. Maybe a little too sensitive and softhearted sometimes, but still tough. Don't worry, I will keep writing. I haven't learned the meter thing, yet. Titia, That's right! I'm not a quitter. And you are a very dear, sweet friend. I'm not going anywhere. 1slick_lady, I had thought about not coming back. But, don't worry! I'm not going anywhere. Hi Sue Ya know, I have no idea who woulda done such a thing, knowingly...but I gotta tell ya that I've read a bit of your work and though I'm no textbook poet myself, I've truly enjoyed it! it's true, I AM a bit confrontational--but there are ways of confronting someone sweetly...grin...I find a load of sugar will disguise the strychnine very well! Hugs you, you are a fine poet, and a hard working one at that---braver than I too...I never would attempt the iambic pentameter! Tho someone told me I got it once, it was an ACCIDENT! |
