Walking the Plains of the Past

Having lived so
long before,
knowing I’d been
taken by amour
would not surprise
me any more
having you show
at portal’s door
of this,
my shadow’s past,
nor to see your
shadows cast
aside dreams of
yesteryear,
nor to feel your
calming near

I am rootbound in
this, my green
that causes me to
see, come dream,
of all of those
other days
as I seek beyond
vast of haze
midwest about
me plays

Having discovered
this long ago
that I was here in
flesh, still, so
some hundred years
or more, I know

Having trekked
forever’s mile
along planes of
time
coming home
after awhile
to that which is
mine

See yon house
my feet e’er tread
walked to claim,
my own homestead,
turning corners
knowing where
each footfall
on stepped stair
would creak,
as lumber strong
has gone weak

Carried through
rooms recalled
yes, I know them well,
my beloved halls
paintings hung
portraits smiled
glassed knobs
on doors
held my warmth
awhile

Not sure when,
but long gone cold,
seek then trunk in
attic’s hold
to be opened,
brought down, now
see a wisp of girl
in sepia’s brown
smiling to recall
dreams of futures’
when

This is me, my
yesteryear,
having traversed
plains that
call me back
this is me,
and I am near
walking plains
of the past

(sigh) This is wonderful, sweet friend, I know the feeling of seeing a particular place we spend so much time in and getting that nostalgia! (sigh) This is excellent, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Karilea, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Karilea

You walk this place with such beauty and depth..I know awhile has been with you, both now and then and I understand.

And so..this is why, it is all going to happen, soon..
everything is falling into place...
..speechless once more...

Hey there you little legal eagle, I knew this.....

"Having trekked
                   forever’s mile
                   along planes of
                   time
                   coming home
                   after awhile
                   to that which is
                   mine"

You're really traveling through many excellent portals in this one.........Oh you're good!
