I used to post somewhere else
At a rinky-dink poetry place
The poets talked amongst themselves
Bluntly said my poems were a waste

I tried everything to improve
Welcomed their sincere advice
But they bashed my style
Tellng me to get a life

Maybe they were just jealous
Or trying to get me mad
Whatever the case may be
I thought that site was a drag

Then one day, I was minding my business
I got an email from Jen
I was like "What is this"?
She mentioned piptalk so I grabbed my pen

Everyone here was so sweet
Sharing their heartfelt poems
And many talented poets I did meet
Thus, passions became my home

Thank you Temptress for referring me to passions!

(smiles) Oh Joanna, this is wonderful, sweet friend, ooohhhhhhh...I'm so happy Jennifer showed you this place, if not for her I would have never fallen in love with you and had a wonderful best friend who writes such gorgeous words! (kisses) Never listen to what those other poetry people said about your work, you are a true delight in my heart! I love you my Shakira Gwenevere! (kiss)

Love,

Oh Rose,

the feeling of belonging is so very important and it's important you raise the subject of snobbish cliques, vanity and favoratism, something that poetry forums should strive to avoid especially when attracting new poets.Keep up those good writes and hope you're enjoying the summer

Robert Frost was told that he too had no talent to write and look where he ended up!!!!!!!!!!!!!  This place is definitely the best on the web and it does feel like home.  When I came in here I KNOW I wasn't very good, but I do know that with all the encouragement I have gotten within these walls, I have learned and grown as a poet and a person.  Wonderful writing and good cadence in your work.  Much enjoyed.

Hi Joanna,

sorry to learn how you had to endure such trash from arrogant "poets"..makes me appreciate the open atmosphere of passions more...

I can't help but smile when I think of how you got here. lol..I'm glad you're here, and I'm glad you've found some wonderful people and support here for your work. I always have a feeling about who would love it here. I thought that you would. Adorable explanation poem, Sweetie. Its good to have you around. ((Hugs))

How grave is my condition, for I cannot find the words to say, I need you so.
