Of course,
words had been
my best of friends
since I was a small child,
and I'd taken up
the obsessive habit
of putting them together
and marvelling at the sight.

At times,
I flaunted it,
showing the world,
grinning as the illiterates
of my young age
decided I was some sort of goddess.

At other times,
I hid it,
convinced there was nothing good enough
for anything but my best friend
(and, even then I was sure, future lover)
to see.
If even him.

In one of my down-phases,
where I barely wrote
and didn't want to be read,
weeks after
I'd lost my Mikhail
back to the distance,
he began to talk me slowly
in the direction of this place.

"Oh yeah," he said,
"you were so right.
I put Lore up on PiP
and it's well loved."

Of course,
I rolled my eyes
and had to remind him
I'm always right.
(A fact that he keeps conceeding to,
then finds a reminder of
every time he forgets.)

He had me go read
the replies it had garnered,
telling me how much
he loved this place.
Like a second family
(or I suppose for those who hate their family,
we'll have to figure out another word).

I grinned and congratulated him
and said no wonder,
he was amazing.

He reminded me
I was his favorite writer,
and naturally
(in that mood)
I had to draw back.
Remind him I never believed I could write
except in the bravado
of early childhood.

It took much coaxing on his part,
but as you must see,
I'm here today.
I let him dictate the first few poems
I put up,
but then it started falling into place.

Not, of course,
that this means he's right.

So I'm here fr my morbid rodent. And the fact that I got addicted!

Anvrill,
yes but it's a fine madness, a potent addiction and the harmful side effects come mostly from the missed sleep and the typer's  RSI

This is great!  And come on, let the guy be right at least once!  He's an amusing rodent.

Oh god, Lori. Now everyone's calling me a rodent! Never, in my life, would I think Duncan would call me "an amazing rodent."

Look what you've done.

Th' place is so much brighter with you here, baby. I love you.

And my favorite line is about finding reminder of you bein' right every time ah forget.

I love you! Baby.

Oh wait ... Duncan wrote amusing, not amazing! That's more in line.
