state of confusion

No closing words
nor whispered prayers,
simply the sounds of scribbling —
three signatures needed
to witness this last act.

A short walk -
a slippery floor
down a dim corridor,
not to say goodbye,
really,
to get beyond THIS.

With those twenty-odd tubes
removed,
we hear
our own breathing
and the slowing blip
on a screen
that sends signals
in one monotone,
stretching moment.

Later, I reflect,
on Mother’s revelation
to rejoin the church;
my Brother’s sudden anger —
ancient lesions reopening;
and my detachment,
conjoined by an awareness
of how dark it gets.

It's very hard
to write,
difficult to get through,
yet I know you have the heart
to do so,
even in its momentary breaking...

thoughts are with you, m'dear...

(big hugggsssssss) Oh Corinne, this is so very sad, sweet friend, my heart goes out to you and I hope everything is alright now and this doesn't apply to you anymore for I think so many can feel this kind of silence! (sigh) This is powerful, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Corinne, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

In the most intense moments, we suddenly find ourselves noticing something we ordinarily wouldn't... as if our minds have decided to handle the situation by detaching from it. You've written that well here... this is superb.

Sven - thank you kindly.

Sunshine - yep, difficult times, thank you!

Park - hey, how are you, SP? What, no poem posts from you?

Bob - thank you, great to see your words here.

Suthern - you're so right about that, it's probably what I noticed the most about my reaction...

Corinne

Noah, thank you for always being there.

Duncan - thank you!

Deer - thanks, hon!
