Stuck

I’m stuck in a truck stop
In Minot, North Dakota
Praying that you won’t forget about me

We came to this place, this spot in the road
We laughed and cried as we unpacked the load
The joy of a home made the work light
Our plans were made, the world was so bright

Our bills were all paid, the rent was on time
Altho’ it seemed to take every dime
We held to each other through winter and fall
We felt that we’d found it, that we had it all

We tired of pancakes, potatoes and toast
We’d tell funny stories bout the flavor of roast
We planted a garden with nothing but hope
But whatever we grew just tasted like rope

Then came the downfall, the job went away
The cash ran out, we just couldn’t pay
So I sent you out with love in my heart
I knew so well that we'd never part.

Now you took the truck you took all the money
You said you’d send for me my honey
Now I’m washing dishes in this old town
And waiting for you is just getting me down

I’m stuck in a truck stop
In Minot, North Dakota
Praying that you won’t forget about me

Believe it or not [and I'm sure you do]
this is a timeless piece, penned by you...

Ken, Loved this!  I sure hope it's just a tale...
although it did bring a big grin to my face.
Love to see more of your work..soon, please?

(big hugggssssss) Oh KayJay, this is so very sad, sweet friend, I too hope this is fictional for I would feel heartbroken if I was in this kind of situation! (sigh) This is powerfully said, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet KayJay, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!
