the cranium slumbers into repose
as trivial thoughts pass by
like flashy convertibles on a motorway

trivial thoughts like
pretty girls always travel
in the passenger seats
of these flashy convertibles

fast cars and highway love

Love today,
break up tomorrow
got to go my way

a false I will remember you promise later
the eyes search for the next
flashy wagon around the corner
a bright smile,
a glint of huge happiness
and a few sweet words later
love is found again

it is a total eclipse today
and the eyes are closed tight,
so tight that darkness can’t escape

it must be pathetic
to feel like a cigarette
born to be smoked
with a lifetime of slow burning
as the smoker inhales
deep breaths of you
in a nicotine-tinged
intoxication
and then exhales

yes, sometimes I am
one of the “glass is half empty” people
travelling downwards
and searching
the bottom of the chasm

and then to think that
the smoker continues his chain
to him, one cigarette is
just as good as another

but then
I am not going to buy a fast car
not yet, anyway
I have yet to sell my soul!

When I saw the title and then saw your name next to it, I KNEW THAT NO WAY WERE THE THOUGHTS TRIVIAL!!!!!!  Excellent writing my friend.  It has been way too long since I have been able to indulge in your works and this one is a good example of why I always search out your name.  BTW ... I didn't get to reply to it yet but I did very much enjoy the "64" as well.  Keep on teaching sir and I will keep on reading and learning.

Thank you all so very much, my dear friends... I have missed being here... and always long to stay here longer, if for nothing but to linger in these blue pages...

Regards to all,
Sudhir
