state of confusion

I know
you don’t want poems
written about you,
I recall the sermon:
write about social biases,
poverty, or politics -
the world is larger than us!

I bury this verse
beneath attempts
to solidify my watery slant
on compassion.

You once said:
thinking beings
are meant to live like children
and love like Jesus.

My heart is not that open -
forgive me
if I covet yours.

Seems like this good man got a poem about himself, after all...and I like it!  I think I'd like him, too!

Corinne

Hard to argue with his thoughts...but it's the little things, that mean a lot.  For when you look at love with poets eyes, it is more like he and I.

Your poems always touch me in a place that gives me ponder..thank you for that.

I would say that, perhaps, you need not covet that heart as much these days. . .

well done. . .
