If I were Wind

Could I be wind I would lust so
to be waves flicking finger gusto
into the curl I’d ride the swell
and fall under sandy child’s spell

To sail a ship be my caprice
or stop mid sail and let it be
helplessly left to ocean whim
then sudden take back up again

My wind would run through your fair hair
as your hand held mine to try repair
I’d tease it till it stood on end then turn
and bring it down again

I’d fly with dust rag city streets
turn garbage bags into sheets
that cover homeless in the cold
then wake them in a warm air fold

If I were wind at night I’d fly
and come into your lullaby
in edge of dream a whispered hush
to take you into sigh of blush

Then with breath I took from flower
I’d kiss your cheeks with garden power

If I were wind

(smiles) Awwwwww, and you may not be wind, but your personify the wind, for you always bring hope and smiles to those who feel sad or lonely, help those in great need, and bring great happiness to all your friends and love! (kiss on cheek) You truly are the Wind, sweet friend, you always caress these pages with flowers and beams of sunshine, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Martie, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

The wind speaks every language
to rich and poor alike
It rushes on to freedom
as a toddler on a bike

Your poem does the same..

PS..when I am seeking a rhyme, I take the syllable, such as like..and run down the alphambet mentally..as in bike, c. no.. d dike is a levee, e no f, g, h hike, j no k no..l like m mike n no (no sneakers allowed) p pike..etc.. With a bit of practice I found I dropped rhymes like an autumn rain.

Through rubble and trouble and dark of night
The yawn of a dawn will hasten the light

Martie...loved the imagery....and I detected
a touch of sensual breeze within this poem..

Nicely done...
