altered state of mind

my poems.
they are just words.
strung together in some
semblance of thought.
they are me.
they are about me.
they are my sustinence.
the keep me going when
i feel down. they are
an outlet for anger,
and any other emotion
that clouds our senses.
and this poem.
the one you(yes you)
are reading,
is not the only one.
there are many more,
scattered.
but read them.
look them up,
read.
read them.

its amazing what one single word can do.

Darkling, as you've come to realize, I am sure, there are many poets and posts here for all to read and digest.  Keep reaching out, reading others, responding in kind, and I am sure as we come to know you, you will be read by others as well.  Share and share alike...

Enjoyed this...I shall look for some of your others...

Hey Darkling...my poems really suck...and several of my replies from other folks, (like Balladeer and LongJohn, don't hesitate to let me know that...LOL), but I still write them just to reinforce their opinions of me...)

Darkling,

good to see the energy, keep your thoughts in focus and see what's around.

There is so much poetry put on the sight that many are not read. It happens to us all.
Thanks for the reminder.

I really enjoyed this poem about poems.  Especially loved the lines where you talk about poetry being an outlet for emotions. How very true. Many of us write about what we know best and from our emotional experiences.

Thank you for sharing this. Hugs, Marti

Darkling...As Karilea said, reach out and reply to the poems of others and they, in turn will reply to yours.
You can never MAKE anyone read or reply to your poems and sometimes, I know I have posted a poem which I just absolutely LOVE, and I don't get many replies, but on some of the ones I have always thought, mediocre...get lots of replies.
I think a lot of it depends on when you post your poems.  If its at a busy time, it will get buried pretty fast...so try to slower times.  Just look through the pages and you will be able to find when they are...
But most of all, please remember that replying to others will bring replies back to your own....

~ just my 2 cents on the matter...and lots of hugs

(smiles) Oh Annika, this is wonderful, sweet friend, I know just how you feel, for when I was here for my first 8 months, I got very few replies and almost gave up and quit on this place because I felt no one cared for me, but now, because I have perservered, I know it only takes a little bit of time to feel welcome and I know as long as you continue to give, you will feel right at home too! (sigh) This is very powerfully said, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Annika, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
