On A Journey To The Unknown

I wanted to write a poem for him
When his sweet Ginger died
To let him know how much I cared
And, how much my heart had cried

I wanted to tell him that if only I could
I'd bring his sweet Ginger back again
What I felt in my heart, I couldn't say
Even when I sat down with my pen

I began searching the internet for a card
Being unable to express what I felt inside
It had to be a very special one for him
When I sent that special card, I cried

Cause when I sent it, it had come back
As I read the message, it had said
The address he had, had been changed
Tears rolled down my face as I went to bed

Knowing that he wasn't going to know
Just how much I really cared
If only I hadn't been afraid to write
A poem for him, I could have shared

I am so very sorry, Larry, about your loss
I wanted so much to write a poem for you
I was too afraid it wouldn't come out right
A special card I had tried to send to you, too

(big hugggssssssss) Oh Sue, there's no need to apologize, sweet friend, I feel the most honest and powerful words are those that are thought out first and then shared, you are a very angelic and loving person and it is never too late to say how you feel, for we wait not because we are selfish but we just don't know what to say because we truly feel for that person we love! (sad sigh) God Bless You, sweet friend, I know Larry and his whole family will always think of you as a true angel like I do, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Sue, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

Ah Sue...well if Larry didn't know if before, and I'm sure he did, he sure knows it now with this beautiful poem of yours.  I know at the time it was difficult for many of us to find the words...still is...but this poem of yours expresses it perfectly.
Beautifully penned!

I think that Larry will treasure the poem you wrote, over any card you might have sent him....
It is very beautiful and speaks to the heart, Sue...

Sue:  Your caring heart shines through every line of your poem.  When Larry reads it, he'll surely know!  No card could be as expressive as what you have written for him.

wow -wipes eyes- this is a wonderful piece. I absolutely loved it. I think that Larry would have appreciated the poem in his time of need, even if it wasnt perfect (and nothing is). It's the thought that counts. Maybe you could send him the belated poem, I'm sure he'd be awfully pleased. -hugs- wonderful, absolutely wonderful

Sue ..this is so touching and tender...your sincerety rises off the page.
Youve found the right words and much more... words that many of us couldnt find. Sometimes things hurt in a way that goes beyond words and it takes time to get our wind back...you found the words in your own time and they came out perfect.
I know Larry will be moved by this as we all are. Thank you for sharing this with us.
hugs

Dear sweet Sue,
I believe you have penned a most compassionate poem. And to think it is penned just for me. The depth of your caring is so evident in your writing. I struggle to realize that others have felt such emotion for me and can only acknowledge to you how humbling it is. I am sorry for your pain. But you must know that its timing is so perfect for me. I miss my baby so much Sue and it is so heart warming to have such a kind friend as you. Thank you from the bottom of my broken and mended heart.

Show you care to those you love...today.
