A friend said farewell today She loved me from afar I was all she valued, I could be her rising star We talked at length of life We were much attuned and mellow Touching souls in the night I was such a lucky fellow We are too close, she said You’re with me, night and day I can’t think, I cannot breathe I cannot care this way I drain my coffee cup Look out to the sun’s array I quiver in my sorrow A friend said farewell today Through rubble and trouble and dark of night |

Sorry...sometimes being close is too close. And some have problems getting used to that personal space being stepped into... Doesn't make love easier, trying to figure it out all the time....Trust me, 33 years of relationships....and I don't have it all figured out yet....But, I also believe that I am not the exception to the fact... Hang in there! And a nice poem, BTW.... |
