Mom may I stay up late
to watch that film,
I know it's scary but I want to..
I'll work extra harder tommorrow
I promise.

Cousin Jerry, can I borrow your binoculars
I want to use them to look at the moon
won't break them, bring them back soon
for an uncertain tomorrow
and be helpful, I promise

Grandma can I borrow this this book
Quietly Flows the Don..I'm no crook
I'll bring it back..to read another
one book down, cover to cover.

Dad, I know I'm young
but I want to set that camera in motion
its as easy as applying hand lotion
the movement of its shutter, intrigues me
let me try, I won't cry..

I made promises, many I kept
others drifted in the air
the winds had them swept.

I love the anxiousness to learn in this
