The Shores of Alone

What thief does rob thy loved ones of their youth
moments passed, becoming one of many
a former beauty, vital and alive
crumbled now into times cruel vagary.

She holds her heart still as a rose of youth
and spirit which could conquer any man
yet daily does her body fail her more
times passage is so hard to understand.

I see her when she was my Mom so young
with flowing hair, fine dresses and red lips
How dare time steal away her glory days
a vile uncaring thief, tis all of this.

I want to give her back her happy times
the ones she mostly gave up to raise me
her life has been so hard and thankless still
yet she keeps joy within her happily.

This is beautiful sweetie....

The poet has said for many a day,
That time is a thief who steals hours away
And takes the blush from the cheek,
The sparkle from the eye
A little of all as it passes by.

Time takes the bright luster from the hair
Steals the gold, but leaves silver there,
Gone hearty laughter, the youthful sounds
But when I think of the blessings
Great joy abounds.

A springy step isn't there to see
Time exchanged it for poise and dignity
Where once I ran, now I walk
My best performances
Are only talk.

Time gives one vision of yesteryear
Hard to recall without a tear
Temporal were the things time took from me
I've had so many joys
And paid a very small fee...
