A Growing Dilemma

I know the child he is.
I know the man at times.
It’s all a part of growing up,
And I feel his fears as mine.

The sand slips through the glass,
The same pace keeping night and day.
Sometimes eternity flies through seconds,
Capturing thoughts a dream away.

I see the child he wants to be,
Free from hurt, laughing in the sun,
I feel his struggle to reach beyond,
And find the man he must become.

The boy in him needs love,
And shelter from a world of fears,
For he has learned how to cry,
And I have seen his tears.

Time slips through the narrow glass,
His past and future in the sand,
The same pace keeping tears and years,
As the boy grows to become the man.

Sherry Gardner

Cherish the good memories past and look forward to the adventure called Tomorrow.
But above all... be kind to yourself today.

Every boy should have a mother who understands him in this way. This is beautiful.

Just wanted to say "Happy Birthday" to Sean, my wonderful Grandson.  And how proud I am of him. He's so smart - always near the top in his class, keeps his room spotless (and that's really something for a 12 year-old), and he's always so polite.

Sherry, you wrote this about another young man, and now it's as good as new for Sean.  Isn't it lovely to have TWO wonderful MEN in your life?

Love U All
