In the space between moments

Sultry summer afternoon
And the verve
Of her essence
Painted the very air
Thick
With soulful mood...

Scarlet staircase
And an eclectic spray
Of art
Set the scene
As together we fell
Into the nooks
Of her spirit...

Hair spiraled down,
Clinging soft to her face
As her fingers flew, caressed,
Owned steel string
In the steamy atmosphere...

And in turn, she owned us
With her sensuous voice
And richness of song-
For in her soul
Ours were home.

So delightful is the afternoon you write of...I got a mental image of selling pink lemonade, and I was the one who was buying~

Truly beautiful work here. It kisses the senses in just the right way.

Thank you for all the lovely replies, everyone.  It's good to write a little poetry again....most of my muse is slaving over songs nowadays.  And a special thank you to you, Marge, for catching my little error....oops....   Much love to ya all.

"the verve of her essence. . ."

I like that line. . . it's the perfect image here. . . great job. . .

Good to see your words again Krista.  This piece was a treat.

Enjoy life, this is NOT a dress rehearsal.

I do believe you are trying to get me to pick a new favorite of yours and this one could do it, but I am stubborn so don't count on me switchin too quick. LOL  I can't begin to express how beautiful this is in both imagery and verbal usage.  I am marking it for my library and will be indulging in it quite often I am sure.  So very nice to see your name appear before me.

Sven- thanks very much!

vandana- thanks!

Maree- Thank you, it's nice to hear from ya!  I've been pretty out of the loop for a while now....been too busy putting my words to music instead of in the form of poetry..sometimes the muse comes back to good ol pip though, which is wonderful.

Gentle Spirit- Thanks so much, it means a lot.

Mark- Mark!  It's been a while!  I'm glad you enjoyed this....I enjoyed the day that I wrote of.  I went to see my guitar instructor perform at her CD release party...it was pretty incredible.  Anyways, thanks for reading, I appreciate it.
