An island became a nation
the sugar crop was its station
individual plantations
grew into larger machinations
prosperity hit a few
sugar cane collected dew
the crop: ways to pay
for modern equipment
nudged an island state into betterment
fledgling state suffered
crops became collectivized
new state devised rapport
manufacturer versus grower
sugar mills..larger capacity
yields grown efficiently
hurricane winds caused
crop losses...dearly
yet the island became a nation
learned not to wait at a by-station

Interesting and different subject in this poem. It needs to be read more. Muchly enjoyed.

(giggles in delight) Oh my gosh, this is sooooo amusing, sweet friend, I forget which nation this was and still is but I have heard of this somewhere else before I can't quite put my finger on! (smiles) This is excellent, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Martin, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
