Testosterone Drag
By Larry Chadwick

It’s such an adolescent thing,
Something you expect from boys.
They don’t understand about cars,
Because they think of them as toys.

It was on a Saturday night,
Just me and some of the boys.
Treating my ’67 Firebird,
Like it was one of my toys.

They were in a sweet ’57 Chevy,
Just him and his gorgeous date.
Treating us like we were losers,
Because not one of us had a date.

I found the opportunity irresistible,
So used the gas pedal as a way to tease.
At the first light he was tempted to race,
And at the second he thought he had me with ease.

He misunderstood the degree of his offense,
Mistakenly thinking that I wanted to win.
He was clueless about the truth,
I just wanted to make a fool of him.

So while the next light was still red,
I dropped the clutch, spun the tires and braked.
Thinking the light had turned green,
He swallowed the bate and made the mistake.

Gloating we caught up to him at the next red light,
She smiled and fully understood our plan.
He stared ahead with angry intent,
While we flirted each thinking of ourselves as a man.

Larry darling boy I think this is utterly utterly perfectly written a story that any boy racer will recognise. This is blended in a confection of depth and delight, you can read this on so many levels, and I do darling boy and I do. Its wonderful to read your writing it has such class darling boy, like you it is excellent

You know I love this utterly utterly it is purely divine

Love and warm stuff
As always
Mushy

Breathe through the heat of our desire
Thy coolness and they balm
Let sense be dumb let flesh retire
Speak through the eathquake wind and fire
Oh

(giggles in delight) LOL! Oh, you sure fooled them there, this is indeed an amusing memory! I too don't understand what's the big deals about cars, and the funny thing is, I'M AN ADOLESCENT! LOL! They say they have freedom when they get cars yet I disagree; you have more responsibilities than ever and one mistake can cost you so much! (sigh) This is wonderfully said, sweet friend, I love this, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Larry, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

You are too much!  Could picture the whole scene!  I don't go too fast but when I do there is a ticket waiting to be written.
Catch me if you can never worked too well for me!!!

Ah yes!  Thinking fondly of the good old days when I knew it all and the most important thing in life was to be 'cool'.

Wonder if I fooled anybody?  (Sheepish grin)

This reminded me of a funny scene in a movie...when the light turned green they both took off and when they came to the red light about fifty feet later then they both stopped and waited for the green light so they could do it again...can't remember the name of the movie but it was funny...James
