standing on a shadow's lace

Appearance

I was in a play
I didn’t know I was in
it was staged so carefully
that I couldn’t tell

I didn’t know
it was a part I was playing
and for my heart
it is was just as well

the setting
seemed like an oasis
but in truth
is was just a mirage

gathered together
in layers of magic
an imagination
of decoupage

the actors gave
a moving performance
seemed to me
just like de-ja vu

and to be
quite blunt and honest
it was the last thing
I expected from you

then time came
for my soliloquy, I froze
and found life had
a rhetorical question to ask

is there a thin line between
promise makers and promise breakers
and can life go on with the deceit
of beautiful lies that won’t last

I can’t
change
the past
but
I can
change
the future

Yes, too often, a very thin line.

Excellent weaving of  all too common events/feelings.

Whether on the shoal or on the shore,
I'll seek the lighthouse evermore.

The reason to come to this place is to read the work of writers like you.
In a word . . . fascinating !

Can life go on?  Certainly,  with the knowing
of which are and which are not...Certainly is
not fun being the target of deceit...

(sigh) Oh Helen, I believe life will always be filled with uncertainty and there is no escaping the curtain, yet there are many pleasant suprises and joy is inevitable behind its mysterious veil! (kiss on cheek) This is excellent, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Helen, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

Fabulous ... I loved the last stanza
You are in control of your future!

Fool, said my Muse to me, look in thy heart and write.

And a thin line between Love and it's alternative. Sounds like someone forgot his lines. Enjoyed
