A tribute to the powerful entrance of grandchildren into my life!!!!

I couldn’t wait until my birthday
Presents all over the place
It finally came and everything was nice…
but it wasn’t like I thought it would be…

I couldn’t wait for Christmas
Lots of presents and surprises
It is here and we finally can open things…
but it wasn’t quite like I thought it would be

I couldn’t wait for grandchildren
So many months from when we got the clue
So much waiting and wondering
So much … and when he came..
it was better than anything I had ever dreamed
A family shared the birth and the love and the joy
and the special gift was beyond words
Tears fell and hearts cried for joy

Then we were waiting again
Months and months to wonder and to wait
So much… and when she came..
it was even better than I thought – love joy birthing together
Now they are part of Christmas and birthdays and I can’t wait…
It is better than I would have ever dreamed…

This gave me pleasurable chills..

I KNOW THIS FEELING WELL...

Something about their faces when I see them.

I know...it is their eyes, their smiles,
the giggles, the energy, so much more.

Yes,  it is better than it could have been.

Thank You Paul...

I love the uplifting feel of your poem, Paul....
Aren't grandkids wonderful...

We are taking our grandaughter to her ballet recital tonight.
We get to see, not only the recital itself, but all of the stuff that goes on before...
I will actually get to see her get her makeup on and her hair done...
And this year for the first time.....she is going to wear a tutu ( she is 9 yrs old )

Paul

I have one granddaughter, a delight with her first tooth and a grin.  Seeing my son with her touches me so much.  Loved the love in this poem!

What joy !

I'm blessed with my first ...

Paul darling boy this is utterly utterly wonderful writing I haven’t got any grand children and the way my three are going I never will have, but I do remember my mum being just as thrilled as you obviously are. She utterly adored Krissy who reciprocated right from the first moment. Krissy was never so happy as when she was with her Minnie it stood for me nanny. Luckily for me when the other two arrived she loved them equally.

This speaks of your joy and delight and I’m very happy for you. The writing is exceptional I love it utterly

Love and warm stuff
As always
Mushy

Breathe through the heat of our desire
Thy coolness and they balm
Let sense be dumb let flesh retire
Speak through the eathquake wind and fire
Oh
