The inventor of phones calls
"how about our long distance service?"
the voice naggs and lingers
" I don't want your service"...
I crack my fingers
Ma Bell...here's my tale:
"meet destiny at those blazing gates,
slap on the extra charge
like I have just arrived" ...
a naive immigrant on a barge
face to face
with slick and polished corporations,
new rates at large
out to maintain large overheads
tired employees call in dead

Lots of truth here Martin, among the humor
I especially loved the tired employees calling in dead
