I will grow my fur thick
to protect me from your bite
keep agile, far from sick
in worlds of flight and might

Ricki-Ticki I was to Kipling fans
snared a few cobras
dwelt in pharoah's sands
weasel-like I am to a certain degree
caught unwanted vermin for farmers, free.

I move quick and strike the cobra neck
once the snake has lunged forward
keep agile, protect you from a snake bite
in world of the victim, flight and might.

I do remember the story
and have wanted to have a mongoose
own me ever since...

I remember the story and I love the images you painted

Here in the midst of my lonely abyss, a single joy I find...your presence in my mind.  Unknown

Good things pop out of small packages, this beast much smaller than its prey...am painting occasional vignettes for stories I much admired
