Gotcha !

When you weren't looking, I snapped your pic
you never heard my shutter click
my camera caught a glimpse of you
in candid pose without a clue

gotcha!

your mouth was open, tongue stuck out
one look and you are gonna shout
"that annoying rodent, fat of cheek
I'll catch that pest and make her squeek"

but you'll not catch me, I'm too fast
with tail held high, I'll scamper past
and as you turn to slap me down
I'll snap a shot of you the clown

gotcha!

the lesson here, is always smile
and never get the madame riled
in little claws with nails that grasp
she's got a secret camera stashed

and when she spies you at your worst
she'll snap your photo, unrehearsed
while munching on your bulbs of crocus
she keeps that secret camera focused

so keep alert, stay on your toes
or she'll catch you in a stupid pose
she'll hang you on her wall of shame
your goofy look, forever framed

with vacant stare and dribbling drool
you'll look, the empty headed fool
as she posts your pic for all to see
her furry cheeks will puff with glee

because
Madame Chipmunk

gotcha!

Now don't you point your lens this way
For if you do, you'll surely pay!
You'll hear the clink of breaking glass
If your shutter clicks at this big.... derriere. *G*
It's not that I wish ill for you
But taking my pic just won't do!
Some images should not be archived
If you value your camera's life!

ROFL... I enjoyed this sassy ditty from a cheeky chipmunk. *S*

Ok, squirrel story.  I feed the little rodents in my backyard.  The other week, one decided to 'come in' for lunch.  They sure are cuter from a distance!  Damn, wonder if he had a camera?

Forgetting all I'm lacking
Completely and complete
I'll take your invitation
You take all of me

A chipmunk with a camera!
Now that's a sight to see!
A rodent with a polaroid
Has been pursuing me!!

A bushy-tailed Allen Funt
Pursues me every day
Trying to get  my nuts but I
Have squirreled them all away!

No Kodak moment for this kid
Your chances here are gone.
You need a couple of real nuts?
Try Toerag and LongJohn!!!

Thanks for reading it, Julie...I'm glad that it cheered you up

Martie...thanks so much for that nice compliment.  I may rock words...but you sure know how to roll them.

Acorn Acorn.....there, I've said it for you, Noah.....now hurry up  and snap the pic, before I disappear....Chipmunks are very fast, you know.  Thanks for the reply

Barry...thanks so much.  Martie says you have rhythm and I rock words...and I say that she rolls words....it sounds like we could form a rock n roll group, the 3 of us.

Sue...thanks so much for your reply...and I'm glad you enjoyed it.

Keth...thanks so much.  Those cheeks are full of the best acorns in town

Sandra...what a cute story.  David found a whole website for me about chipmunks and people who have actually tamed them by feeding them.
I know that we have some which are living underneath our downstairs deck, but we have so much foliage that we can't see them right now.....but we can definitely hear them.
One of these days I'm going to sit down there with some peanuts and almonds and see if I can get one to eat out of my hand.
Thanks for your reply

Nancy...I am so happy that I put a smile on your face today...it is finally summer, isn't it...thanks so much for your reply

Marge...thanks so much for enjoying my poem.
For that I will send you some acorns

Karilea...thanks so much.....I'm so glad that I sent a big smile to Kansas

Suthern.....HaHaHa.......I loved your reply!
Now...thats something you don't say to a chipmunk with a camera....it will make her definitely want to take your pic....
oops! watch out...here she comes!!!!!!

I bet he did have a camera, Duncan.....and he probably got you in a silly looking pose.
We had a squirrel which sat at our livingroom window and just begged and begged until finally, David went out and filled the bird feeder....and knocked some of it down for the squirrel.  Now we have a pregnant squirrel who thinks she owns our livingroom deck.  We have some Aloe Vera plants out there and she has been ripping the leaves off them and eating them....must be a strange pregnancy craving...
thanks for your reply

Michael...Ok where are the other 2 scalawags.....I'll get their pic and they will look great on my wall of shame...
Thanks for your reply

Thanks Paul....it was so much fun to write...
That pic comes from a card which my husband gave me...glad you enjoyed.
