I stand facing east
trying to out-stare the rising sun
I squint my eyes,
rub the droplets that ooze out
no, I am not weeping.
it is the sunshine cutting through
no, I am not sad
just normally misunderstood...

as always, as usual
business as usual,
strict or casual,
plain coincidental!

it is strange though
that I stand facing east
while my shadow faces
d
o
w
n
s
o
u t
h

south bound, as I always was
south bound, again

and Eagle Eye Cherry
asks from the radio
"are you still having fun?"
and I rubbed the light
out of my eyes

at least I am not directionless
just unidirectional
like insults you throw from up there
towards me down here
from north to south

south bound train
yet again
.......

.......
.....

it's like this whole poem is a shadow. . . of the writer?  well, perhaps. . .but, for now, let's just say that I like the concrete elements that you've used here. . . and the way that you've played with the language. . .

great work my friend. . . good to see you. . .

With the exception of a few awkward stumbles (like: 'I squint my eyes,
rub the droplets that ooze out
no, I am not weeping.'

that ooze out - brrrrrrrrrr....lol)

this is just excellent.

'and Eagle Eye Cherry
asks from the radio
"are you still having fun?"
and I rubbed the light
out of my eyes'

loving that..

It's going into my library...you're doing good these days m'friend...
