Etched,
tawny edged moss
rampant among certain types
of fascination

Scented, my fantasy of you
looming in the dark currents
trickling green tea,
balsam flickers of light

Leaves turned and favored
darkest reds up
Placed just so
in this position of longing

Thick rooted love
curling upwards, twisting
diving back into the soil
reminding me
of serpents
mating in secret

I am allayed in jewelweed
nigh to crave’s fever
tapping sighs
from the tea tree stone

Wandering in umbra
waiting
for my soul soothsayer
to drain my essence
into perfect patterns
