It was laying right before me
in all it's nakedness
and I stumbled rather helplessly
over thickened calluses.

Blind to indescretions
and the things that passed me by,
my body lost it's footing
and my soul began to cry.

Split seconds found me falling
to what seemed a final demise,
so I braced myself completely,
but I never closed my eyes.

Hitting hard against the wall
of what would finally be,
I steadied in the numb peril,
collecting pieces of broken me.

The hurting never stops,you see,
what you did will always stay
in the forefront of my memory,
not just on days it rains.

The limp is barely visible
to the stranger's view,
but in my conscious every step
I'm reminded of...

you.

From this I will recover,
I will rehabilitate,
and a stronger, viable me
will be sure to emanate.

You're like a broken bone, my dear,
that will be whole again,
and will remind me quietly
of what once had been.

Time is all it takes
to ease the pain within,
no different than the couplehood
of arthritis and motrin.
