Lost and Found

Can you help me?
I am looking for a lost item.
It is hard to describe,
But I will try.

I have searched many places.
Places where light was void,
And darkness was never seen,
But to no avail.

I searched under the cool side of her pillow,
And found only silence.
I followed the smell of dampness,
After a cool rainy day,
And found only a rainbow.

I searched the highest mountain,
And the deepest ocean.
I am at a lost,
Where do I search next?
I searched my past,
And ventured into the future,
But still came up empty.
I journeyed to places in my dreams,
But found only nightmares.
I searched the pockets of the poor,
And found only despair.
I went to the rich,
And they turned their backs.
I asked the young,
Laughter was all I received.
I begged the old,
Cryptic words are what they offered.

But I will keep searching.
I will search here, there, and everywhere.
I will look between somewhere and nowhere.
My crying heart will weep no more,
Once I find “Love”

Write from the soul and the words will flow

Funny thing about love, it is when we stop looking that is just appears! Enjoyed this Keith!

Now I know you'd get some nice responses if you sent this to the Personals section of your local newspaper.

Enjoyed!

wonder if love can bridge any of those gaps you described so masterfully?  Very good poem - thanks Paul
