If it's square it won't roll
spool it, let it scroll
to fulfill circular needs
independant of race or creed

it should stop on a dime
not for tickets, or any fine
turn about an axis....rotate
zoom in on a subject...dilate

whilpool winds
tornado spins
gears in clocks that wind
wheeled thoughts girate
flocks of birds migrate

revolutions by the day
wheels of fortune displayed
with the edges of squares all rounded
would life stand still..I am confounded?!!

Smiling here, Martin...Yes, being "round" helps, but it's not the be all and end all of civilization...though I would hate to think I would have missed this poem had I not gone "round" the block one more time...

I enjoyed this - sometimes I wish the wheel had never been invented....would we be happier with "LESS" roundness? Sometimes life is too fast for me I guess.

I love the round of this poem, Martin...but I agree with PDV, that life does indeed, roll much too fast.

Lyra,

and so it goes for the world of wheels...
but would we have had space exploration without it?...then the next question could be
who needs space exploration?
