I wake from a seed
before the damp of morning burns sun dry
and curl cold flat to the faded winter floor.
I watch today come over the hill,
breathe yellow in sequence
and I know my fingers now this way,
round and right
and growing again.

My ears gather the thunder of ocean waves,
thick mad and running
and I mind coil the reason she is so full.
Wonder wide with palms pressed
where she rises from
and we exchange a vibber for a rush,
sweet, secret and even
though I’m alone in the knowing.
