When did you last tell me you loved me?
When did my heart last skip a beat?
When were we both consumed by our passion
And basked in love's glorious heat?

My mind tries to resurface those memories
But they seem to be lost in the fray
Oh how I long to hear 'I love you'
I wish you could say these words today

You used to live inside my heart
The place you took as your new address
How easily I would succumb
Whenever I felt your warm caress

But like an ember that has died in the fire
So have the sparks between me and you
There's such an incredible amount of distance
And love has all but faded from view

The bridges of love have been burned
And no longer do you care how I feel
Unlike when our love was brand new
And my heart was yours to steal

I sit here lost in my memories
All alone as I stare into space
In my heart there resides only memories
Was I to blame for this gradual fall from grace?

Sue
Ya got me going up and down like a yo yo between these two poems you just submitted....He he this is a nice composition. Lost love creates a strange beauty in the poet's mind....That melancholy reminisce....very good work!

The role of poetry is to utter the un-utterable; to open up
spaces of consciousness and resistance; to language oppressions; to
re-language historie

(big hugggsssssss) Oh Sue, this is soooooo sadly beautiful, sweet friend, it makes me sad to feel the lost love but it is also soooooo beautiful to see you feel hope beyond the tears and I know you will find true joy that follows! (kiss on cheek) This is wonderful, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Sue, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

Love comes and goes where it wishes...
Love requires a certain seasoning...
Confusing if we try to figure it out...
Just let it flow...James
