I am your mother,
Trying to be strong,
Dancing on the ideas,

Independent as I can be,
Crying over frustration,
Of the things I wish.........I could change today.

Safeness engulfs you,

That if nothing else........I can give you that.

I am your playmate,
Tiny hands with patty-cake,
Little giggles as you hug me,
And I fall asleep at night.......praying you are happy.

I am your performer,
Solo sessions in midnight hours,
Dancing lessons as you step on my toes,
And all the while I watch you............and you are amazing.

I am your soldier,
Standing ground as time goes on,
FIghting through the battles,
I create for myself.............despite you.

I am your promise,
Of a never ending love,
No matter what you do,
And this comforting concept..........thankfully goes both ways.
