This one is
for all the dreams--
all the sting
I've yet to sing.

All the things
you never saw--
all the things
I never was...

I wish I could be everything,
that you saw within my eyes--
I wish I could be every thing!
(all of me, contained in smile)

I felt your reach
of slow dance love
I danced upon
your feet in trust--
I miss the waltz
of jubilee--
I pray to find
some "you" in me...

I will die
your little girl
I miss you.
miss you, miss you,
miss you...twirl...

I love you, Dad.
I am your girl.
(I miss you Dad.)
I miss our world...

(as I catch a flamed baton)
I do it, just to carry on...
high-stepped pride
in grasp of wand--

I'll do it.
I will carry on.

Karen

I see the tears in this
yet they stand proud, like bliss
just touched by human truth
I watch and feel the ache with you

Karen, there is something so special
about a father/daughter relationship..
I know where you are coming from here...
and you are that girl!
You will always be...daddy's little girl.
Beautifully expressed.

ya know Karen, I was gonna write a poem for my dad who watches from above, but this is among the many times that I can say I truly believe you wrote it far better than I ever could have.  Missing them causes such an ache sometimes, and I thank you for this from the bottom of my heart.  Hugs to you!

I could have missed the pain, but I'd have had to miss the dance~~(Garth)

Now if this didn’t bring a smile from heaven, I don’t know what could. You know he’s up there replying “you’ll ALWAYS be daddy’s girl”.  Love this piece Karen.
