Salt
from the tears
leave traces
of pain
releasing,

flowing out

yet it does not
help...

They flow
endlessly
as I wonder
what was it I did,

trying to give love
show love

wanting in return
just a little
compassion

and receiving
nothing
but the salt
that stings
my face

as it leaves
tracks of
emotions,
for all the world
to see,
branded

by tears

that will not
wash away,

that will not
go away,

and in the end
all that is left
is the taste of
salt
as each
tear drop
falls,

as I pray
for each tear drop
to ease
the ache,

the salt
stinging wounds
open in my heart,

but yet I am left with
nothing but
the salt,
the tears,
the traces,

praying for them
to go away,
while
they laugh
as they dance upon
cheeks of sorrow,

staining them,
evermore.

I could have missed the pain, but I'd have had to miss the dance~~(Garth)

Salt is a vital ingredient for survival and when found in tears it is even more so. *HuGS*

Tears can be a burden, yet give such emotional release. This poem was very moving.
Bravo!

but yet I am left with
nothing but
the salt,
the tears,
the traces,

that's how I feel
and wonder why it  has to be that way...

This poem is heartrending, Donna...
but poetry is wonderful therapy, as are those salty tears.

Write you heart out and cry your eyes out and it will help you to feel better.

~ loving hugs
