Adult Language

Make your bed
do your chores
Wash the dishes
mop the floors.

Brush your teeth
sit up straight
Eat your breakfast
don’t be late.

Study hard
mind your manners
Don’t forget
your daily planners.

Obey the rules
mind your teacher
Please and thank you
heed the preacher.

As long as you
live ‘neath this roof
Follow me
and do not goof.

I really love this!!!! It DOES suit the title! Adult language... That's what my parents hum to me almost everyday just a few years ago (actually, they still do now... :P), and I think I'll say to my kids in the future.

Thank you for sharing!!!

VAS, I loved this, I would change the last line "to be living proof" though. Fabulous.

Thanks, you two!

And:

Eat your peas
clean your plate
or no dessert

Awwww VAS...this is great!  I used a few of
those adult words this morning trying to get
my 12 year old son to clean his room...

Needless to say,  I can relate well to these.

Very cute, VAS...
Oh how I remember those adult words from when I was a kid...
and oh how I remember them from when my kids were little...and not so little.

I agree with Keth....living proof would be a better ending...
as in "in my day, there were no schoolbuses, and I had to walk 5 miles to school...barefoot, and today...I am a success"

That’s not just adult language…it’s the adult MANTRA!!! And how often did I hear that last one…”as long as you’re living under my roof” !! Yep, remember it well!!! Lol
